“Glimpsing the Good”
“I have an irrepressible desire to live till I can be assured that the world is a little better for my having lived in it.” - Abraham Lincoln
Yes! I am a life coach. Yes… Others feel my support in: #conversation, #conversationswithself, #positivemindset, #positivethinking, #growthmindset
Client partnerships between coach and coachee are attuned to client inner dialogue. The support is synergistic! Sometimes taking a glimpse into the good is all that is needed for noticing what is getting in the way of experiencing life through the inner lense which one wishes to experience it. We all get stuck sometimes!
When you “glimpse the good” every day – you begin to notice that your life changes. It is positive mindset growth. It’s almost that simple!
The impact of what we notice in the world sticks with us… forever!
Here’s an example for you to ponder… Did you know that the “Wedding industry players are expecting 2024 to be a banner year for engagements?” Sarah Schreiber, associate editorial director at Brides magazine, said the COVID-19 pandemic is likely the cause of the 2024 engagement boom.
“The singles were not mingling,” she said of the 2020 shutdown. “When those pandemic restrictions lifted, everybody came out, the dating seemed [to blossom] again. Relationships boomed. Consider the fact [that] the average American couple takes about three years to get engaged. Everybody is getting ready to take that next step.”
What is something good that you receive from reading this blurb? (Despite the tragedies associated with global pandemic that we’ve all recently lived through), what can your mind expand upon (after reading these facts) which is good/positive/uplifting/inspiring, etc.?
Think on This:
What can you focus on from your experience living through the COVID pandemic that has been favorable for you?
What difficulties have you adapted to recently because your mindset was glimpsing into the good of the situation?
The Power of The Good:
The power of “Glimpsing the Good” is the concept embodying the ability to look for and react with positivity. Habitually… your intentions, and values create meaningful and beneficial impacts on not only yourSelf, but also all individuals, communities, and the world at large. You are a ripple of reaction into the world!
Spreading “the good” encompasses acts of kindness, compassion, empathy, generosity, and reaction without judgement.
“Glimpsing the Good” is an ability to find joy and contentment in even the most challenging of situations.
Overall, the power of focusing on “the good” is an intentional daily practice of living a life in conscious effort to uplift, inspire, and transform both individuals and societies for the better. This deliberate way of living through life is an ability that we all carry! It is an option! It is your choice!
Who do you know right now that lives in the truth and power of “Glimpsing the Good”? How has this person impacted your life?
Your Ego Is a Factor:
Your Ego mind is your “thinking mind”, it is your illusionary Self, it speaks to you from a base of FEAR. Your “soul or spirit mind” is your true Self, it is the force of thought within you that speaks from a base of LOVE.
How might you shield yourself from your Ego mind? How might you protect yourself from the words and actions which others use that do not serve you? How might you shield yourself (moving forward), from all negative influences?
Three Super Simple Tools to feel the power of “Glimpsing the Good”:
1. Say NO to negativity.
2. Quiet your mind and practice your own daily gratitude rituals.
3. Be assertive and selective on your; who’s, what’s, where’s and when’s.
The power of our words is imbedded in the concept of knowingly “Glimpsing the Good.”
No matter how difficult the situation, no matter how horrible the story… our inner words impact outcomes. I believe that we are electromagnetic beings, our thoughts influence physical health and well-being through various pathways, including our own nervous, endocrine, and immune systems. Our inner words create our perceptions from our experiences. I ask myself every day… “Am I (inwardly and outwardly) better today than I was yesterday?” I ask… Are you?
